Nepal, the home of the Gurkhas is also known as
The Himalayan Kingdom as it is surrounded by snow-capped
cold peaks, mountains, fertile emerald green forest,
lovely valleys and thousands of classic beautiful
lakes. |

The brave land where the Gurkhas hailed
from has its own way of leading life, culture,
tradition and custom. In the north, they harvest
each grain and spices are worth their weight in
gold as they include saffron, the most exquisite
of spices. It portrays the serenity of the people,
which is reflected by its delicate and highly
fragrant cuisine with a unique blend of aromatic
herbs and moist flavours.
The Gurkhas are the most highly praised
soldiers and the most famous fighting force in the
British Army. Probably the most renowned fighting
knife in the world is the khukuri of the Gurkhas
which is inseparable from and synonymous with the
Gurkha solider. It is believed that the Gurkha
must draw blood every time before he may return
the khukuri to its sheath. The Gurkhas are known
all over the world for their valour and loyalty
and make their own way of living by cultivating
grain and rearing domestic animals each bound by
their rich tradition. |
